Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, who is busy with the shoot of his upcoming film The Delhi Files, recently revealed that he broke down on the sets while directing the film which is based on the ‘painful chapter’ of India’s history. He also revealed that because of the film’s shocking story, everyday someone gets emotional on the sets.

Taking to his official X account on Wednesday (November 27), Vivek shared his picture and opened up about how the shoot affects the crew members. “Before we began shooting #TheDelhiFiles, we knew it was a painful chapter of India’s history. But we never imagined how deeply it would affect us, especially the younger crew members,” he wrote.

“The pain, persecution, torture and sacrifice our people endured seem almost unimaginable to them. Our history they were never taught. Every day on set, someone breaks down. Last night, it was me,” he added.

A few days back, Vivek posted a picture with four girls who are a part of The Delhi Files. Along with it, he wrote on social media, “These young and innocent Bengali girls have no idea what terror is going to hit their characters soon. From the sets of #TheDelhiFiles.”

Earlier, he also stated that The Delhi Files is a ‘gut-wrenching untold true story of the Hindu genocide.’

Vivek has carved a niche for himself with his compelling portrayal of real stories and sensitive issues. His other films like The Kashmir Files, The Tashkent Files, and The Vaccine War, tackled aspects of history and contemporary society with a focus on uncovering hidden truths.

The Delhi file: The Bengal Chapter will be directed by Vivek and jointly produced by his actress-wife Pallavi Joshi, and Abhishek Agarwal. The film, presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal and I Am Buddha productions, will hit the big screens on August 15, 2025.
