Domestic markets opened with gains in today’s trading session. Nifty is above 24,300 and Sensex is at 80,351. Sensex is up 241 points, while Nifty is up 65 points.
However, strength has been seen in midcap and smallcap stocks. BSE Midcap index is trading up 0.25 per cent, while Nifty Midcap 100 index is up 0.59 per cent. BSE’s Smallcap index is trading with a gain of 0.37 percent.
At present, BSE’s 30-share major index Sensex is trading 241.67 points or 0.30% up at 80,351.52. Whereas NSE’s main index of 50 shares Nifty is trading up by 65.50 points or 0.27% at 24,287.40.
Banking, Financial Services, FMCG, IT, Metal, Pharma, PSU Bank, Private Bank, Realty, Healthcare, Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas stocks are seeing a rise of 0.03-1.12%. Bank Nifty is trading at 52,308.85 with a gain of 0.19 percent. While auto shares are trading with a decline.
Among the big stocks, Infosys, BEL, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, ICICI Bank, HCL Tech, Asian Paints and Tata Steel rose by 0.51-2.20 per cent. Among the big stocks, Ultra Cement, Eicher Motors, NTPC, Axis Bank, L&T and ONGC fell by 0.29-0.94 percent.
Among midcap stocks, New India Assure, Bharti Hexacom, Tube Investments, Thermax and Crisil rose 1.81-3.22 per cent. While UPL, Go Digit, Emami, Torrent Power and Star Health are down 1.49-3.52 percent.
Among smallcap stocks, MTNL, Hitachi Energy, Mangalam Cement, Pix Transmis and UKAN India rose between 5.10-6.70 per cent. However, among smallcap stocks, Centrum Electron, Shivalik Bimeta, Indo Count, JSW Holdings and PolyMedicare fell by 3.16-10.62 per cent.
