In coordination with Uttar Pradesh Sports Directorate and Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association, the final matches of various weight categories of the state level sub-junior girls wrestling competition were played at Sonakpur Stadium on Monday. One after the other the players defeated the opponent player with their moves. The daughters of the host team performed brilliantly in the competition and won five medals. In this, Vaishnavi, Palak Ayushi and Tarana won gold medals. So Anjali won the bronze medal. On this occasion, State Vice President of BJP Mahila Morcha Priya Aggarwal honored the winning daughters by giving them medals and certificates. During this, Regional Sports Officer Naresh Chand Yadav, Joint Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association Dr. Ajay Pathak, Pawan Sisodia etc. were present.
Dr. Ajay Pathak, Joint Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association, said that the daughters of Moradabad division became champions in wrestling by winning four gold and one bronze medals. The daughters won gold medals in 43, 61, 69 and 73 kg weight categories and bronze medals in 65 kg weight categories. In the state level competition, daughters of other divisions also brought glory to their division by winning gold, silver and bronze medals.
140 players from teams from Agra, Jhansi, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Aligarh, Bareilly, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Meerut, Dervpatan, Chitrakoot Dham, Saharanpur, Mirzapur and Moradabad participated in freestyle wrestling. Vaishnavi of Moradabad division stood first in the 43 kg weight category. Palak of Moradabad stood first in 61 kg, Anjali of Moradabad stood third in 65 kg. Along with this, Tarana of Moradabad stood first in the weight of 73 kg, Palak of Moradabad stood first in the weight of 61 kg, Ayushi of Moradabad stood first in the weight of 69 kg.
