Ramgarh, 25 November (Hindustan Reporter). The accused of robbing the employees of a finance company in the district has been arrested. Police have also recovered a loaded country-made pistol from him.
Ramgarh SP Ajay Kumar told during the press conference on Monday that the criminal Mahendra Thakur is a resident of Sadam Madai Tola under Gomiya police station area of Bokaro district. He was standing near IFFCO Colony Gate in Ramgarh to rob an employee of a finance company. Police received secret information that a person was roaming with a country-made pistol near Ifico Colony Gate. The police immediately raided and arrested him. During interrogation, it was revealed that Mahendra Thakur is an expert in snatching, motorcycle theft and carrying out criminal incidents.
Has warranty in 31 cases, has gone to jail five times
SP Ajay Kumar said that Mahendra Thakur is 32 years old and he is wanted in 31 cases in different districts of Jharkhand. He has gone to jail five times so far. To carry out the incident, he had purchased country-made pistol from West Bengal. Apart from Ramgarh district, Mahendra Thakur has carried out many incidents with his associates in areas like Bokaro, Hazaribagh and Dhanbad etc. He used to keep an eye on the people withdrawing money around the banks. He also kept an eye on the collection path of the employees of the microfinance company. Wherever a soft target was found, he would immediately target it. After looting the money, he used to abscond to another district. He was planning to carry out the crime in Ramgarh district for the last eight days.
Mahendra Thakur has a criminal history
At present, 6 cases are registered in Gomia against the arrested criminal Mahendra Thakur. Apart from this, FIR has also been registered against him in Ramgarh and Dhanbad districts, which is still being investigated. Mahendra Thakur’s photograph and his complete details have been uploaded in CCTNS. Apart from this, information is also being collected from police officers of other districts.
The raid team included Ramgarh SDPO Parmeshwar Prasad, Ramgarh police station in-charge Krishna Kumar and ASI Manoj Kumar.
