Maharashtra Election News 2024: In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP has given its best performance so far and won a landslide victory by capturing 132 seats. With its allies, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena getting 57 seats and Ajit Pawar’s NCP 41, the Mahayuti has won 230 seats in the state’s 288-seat assembly. However, till night there was no decision on whether BJP would get the post of CM or not because despite BJP’s landslide victory, Eknath Shinde has retained his claim on the post of CM. On the other hand, Congress, Sharad Pawar’s NCP and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena got only 46 seats in this election and suffered a tragic loss. The opposition described the results as unreliable and suspected large-scale rigging. All exit polls had predicted the victory of Mahayuti but no one expected that Mahavikas Aghadi would be wiped out to such an extent. Even political pundits have been surprised by these unexpected results.

In contrast to the last five years of political instability in Maharashtra and the politics of constant compromises and sabotage, this time the BJP has secured almost a simple majority of seats. All the Zonem Mahayuti including Mumbai, Thane and Konkan, North Maharashtra, Central Maharashtra, Vidarbha and West Maharashtra performed brilliantly. In many districts not a single candidate of Mahavikas Aghadi was elected. Many leaders including Prithviraj Chavan, Balasaheb Thorat, who were considered contenders for the post of CM of Congress, also lost. Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aditya Thackeray managed to save his Worli seat but he got only 20 seats in total. Congress, which won 13 out of 48 seats in the state in the Lok Sabha elections, has got only 16 seats in the state assembly. Whereas Sharad Pawar’s NCP has got ten seats. On the other hand, Raj Thackeray has once again failed in the election field. His party Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena did not get even a single seat. His son Amit Thackeray also lost the election from Mahim seat.

Other notable candidates who faced defeat in the election include former minister Nawab Malik. Despite BJP’s reluctance, Ajit Pawar gave him the ticket but he finished fourth in his Mankhurd seat.

In Mumbai city, BJP got 15 seats and Uddhav faction got 10 seats. Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has got six seats. Congress has got only three seats while Samajwadi Party has got one seat. Ajit Pawar’s NCP has got one seat.

After BJP’s spectacular victory, it was believed that Devendra Fadnavis would take oath as CM. But, this evening Eknath Shinde said that no such formula has been decided that only the leader who gets the most seats will become the CM. Later Fadnavis also announced that the decision on the post of CM will be taken by all three parties together. Date of tenure of the present Legislative Assembly of the State. Since it is to be completed on 26th, before that the new government has to be formed, hence there was a possibility that the decision on the post of CM would be taken any time.

After facing a major setback in the Lok Sabha elections, the Mahayuti constituents including BJP have benefited from the corrective steps taken by them. In particular, the BJP is believed to have benefited from the Ladki Bahin Scheme of cash transfer of Rs 1500 per month to women. Apart from this, the steps taken by BJP to strengthen the OBC vote after the Maratha reservation movement are also believed to be beneficial for it. On the other hand, it is believed that Congress and the Uddhav faction have lost due to many reasons including conflict and overconfidence over the post of CM.

Responding to these results, Uddhav Thackeray said that he does not trust these results. They do not accept this result. Something must have gone wrong. Uddhav Group MP Sanjay Raut gave a quick reaction on the results and said that we do not have confidence in this result. There has been a huge mistake. He demanded that elections should be conducted through ballot paper. Congress’s Maharashtra in-charge Ramesh Chennithala also reiterated his demand.

BJP can form government without Shinde-Ajit!

Shinde and Ajit cannot blackmail BJP

There will be no bullying in important decisions including CM post and cabinet formation.

Mumbai: Out of total 288 seats in Maharashtra, BJP alone has won 132 seats. In such a situation, BJP is in a position to form the government even without the support of Eknath Shinde or Ajit Pawar.

If BJP wants to form the government without the support of these two constituent parties, then it needs only 13 to 15 MLAs. Considering the success that BJP has achieved, it should have no problem in taking support from other parties or independents. Uddhav’s Shiv Sena or Sharad Pawar’s NCP or even Congress MLAs, who lost to Karun Rakas in this election, will not have to work hard to defeat him.

In such a situation, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar will no longer be in a position to make any assumptions about the newly formed government. Be it CM selection or cabinet formation, transfer of officers or any other major decisions, BJP will not have the compulsion to please them continuously. The opposition has got so few seats that even if Shinde, Ajit, Uddhav, Sharad Pawar get it, they are not in a position to form the government. In such a situation, it seems from the current results that blackmailing to topple the government will no longer work.
