Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who captained Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Delhi at the Wankhede Stadium, became the first Indian fast bowler to complete 300 wickets in the T20 format. Bhuvneshwar, playing his first match after IPL 2024, achieved this feat by dismissing Yash Dhull in his second over.
Before Bhuvneshwar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Piyush Chawla 314 and Ashwin had taken 310 wickets for India in T20 format. Playing for the national team, Bhuvneshwar took 90 wickets in his career from 2012 to 2022. Bhuvneshwar has taken 181 wickets in 176 IPL matches and has been the most successful bowler in the league.
