Indian-Americans in America have united to form a new minority org.zation. The Association of Indian-American Minorities (AIAM) was inaugurated during a ceremony at Sligh Seventh Day Adventist Church in Maryland on Friday. The aim of this org.zation is to accommodate and work on the situation of minorities among Indian-American travelers.
During the inaugural program of the institute, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Global Peace Award for minority upliftment. The award has been presented by Washington Adventist University and AIAM to PM Modi for his efforts towards inclusive growth and minority welfare. One of the main goals of the formation of AIAM is to ensure the unity of Indian-Americans in America. AIAM has appointed Sikh philanthropist Jasdeep Singh as its president. Additionally, its seven-member board includes Baljinder Singh, Sukhpal Dhanoa (Sikh), Pawan Bezwada, Elisha Pulivarty (Christian), Deepak Thakkar (Hindu), Junaid Qazi (Muslim) and Niseem Reuben (Jewish).
