Australia defeated America 2-1 to enter the semi-finals of the Davis Cup tennis tournament for the third consecutive year. Both the teams won the singles match and leveled the score at 1-1.

Then the winning team in the doubles match was decided. Australian pair of Matthew Ebden and Jordan Thompson defeated Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul 6-4, 6-4. Australia has become Davis Cup champion 28 times. Australia will face defending champion Italy in the last-4. Netherlands will face Germany in the second semi-final.

In the first singles match, Australia’s Thanasi Kokkinos saved four match points to defeat Shelton 6–1, 4–6(7–6(14). US Open Grand Slam runner-up Taylor Fitz then defeated world number nine Alex D. Beat Minor easily. -6.3, Italy leveled the score at 1-1 with a 6-4 win over Argentina’s Francisco 6-4, Entered the semi-finals with a score of 6-1, while Jannik Sinner defeated Sebastian Baez 1-1, 7-5.
