Baghpat, 23 November (HS). A truck full of food items was burnt to ashes on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in the district. A moving truck suddenly caught fire. The driver and conductor saved their lives by jumping. After receiving the information, four teams of the fire department reached the spot and controlled the fire.
Truck driver Nanak Yadav, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, was going from Ludhiana to Madhya Pradesh with groceries in the truck along with conductor Pawan. As soon as the truck reached near Khekra Stadium, heavy smoke started coming out from the truck and fire broke out. The driver and operator saved their lives by jumping from the truck in time. The fire department team reached the spot and controlled the fire after hours of hard work. The truck and the food items worth lakhs of rupees kept on it were burnt to ashes. The police made the traffic system smooth by parking the burnt truck on the side.
CFO Amarendra Singh said that information about fire in the truck was received. The fire was brought under control after reaching the spot. There has been no loss of life. The entire goods kept in the truck were burnt to ashes.
