Araria, 23 November (Hindustan Reporter). Jokihat police station of the district has taken major action against liquor smugglers on Friday night. Jokihat police station recovered a consignment of 642 liters of English liquor loaded on a pickup vehicle.

On a tip-off, the police started checking vehicles by setting up a check post on the road passing through Jokihat. In the process, a large consignment of English liquor loaded on a pickup was recovered. The police have also arrested smugglers in the case. Jokihat police station incharge Rajeev Kumar Jha received information late on Friday evening that a large consignment of illegal English liquor was going to pass from West Bengal to Bihar by road via Jokihat police station area.

In the light of the information received, vehicle checking was started by Jokihat police station. During the vehicle checking, a large consignment of 642 liters of English liquor was recovered from a pickup vehicle late in the evening. While seizing the recovered liquor and the pickup vehicle used in liquor smuggling, the police arrested two liquor smugglers, Mohd. Junaid, father of Mohd. Yunus and Golden Rich Father Late. Kalicharan Maldar has also been arrested. Due to which the police is interrogating. The backward forward linkage of the recovered liquor is being investigated.
