New Delhi. People traveling in general class in trains are going to get relief from December. They will not need to travel by hanging or pushing. Indian Railways is going to increase the facilities for the passengers traveling in this class. Railways has started work on this and the deadline has been fixed for November. In this way, from next month, people traveling in general class will have more chances of getting a seat than before.
According to the Railway Ministry, continuous steps are being taken to provide comfortable travel to the passengers traveling in general class. In this direction, the number of general coaches in regular trains is being increased. More than one thousand general coaches will be added to about 370 regular trains in the month of November. According to an estimate, the addition of new general coaches of Railways will benefit about one lakh passengers every day. The work of installing general coaches has started.
New coaches are being made in two coach factories
Railway Board Executive Director Dilip Kumar said that new general class coaches are being made in two factories. Coach manufacturing work is going on at a fast pace in Integral Coach Factory, Chennai and Rae Bareli Coach Factory. Railways has a plan to make 10 thousand general coaches in the next two years, through which about eight lakh additional passengers of general class will be able to travel daily. All these coaches will be LHB i.e. more comfortable than before. As per the need, one to three general coaches will be installed in the trains. In this way, there will be four general coaches in every train.
583 new coaches were made in three months
A total of 583 new general class coaches have been manufactured from July to October. These coaches have been added to 229 regular trains. This is benefiting thousands of additional passengers traveling in general class every day. That means they are traveling while sitting.
