Kishanganj, 18 November (Hindustan Reporter). The Excise Department team seized 268.125 liters of foreign liquor near Block Chowk on Monday morning. The liquor was being transported in a Desire car.
The accused escaped taking advantage of the fog. The action was taken under the leadership of Excise Sub Inspector Amrit Gupta. Assistant sub-inspector Jitendra Kumar was also included in the team. The team had received information about liquor smuggling through Kishanganj. On receiving the information, surveillance was started in Bahadurganj Mode and Block Chowk Road. Just then a car was passing through Block Chowk. Which was stopped. The car driver was trying to drive the car at high speed. Who was chased away and caught.
The driver escaped taking advantage of the fog. On checking the car, foreign liquor of various comp.es was recovered. The liquor was being brought from Bengal. Which was being taken to another district via Kishanganj, Kochadhaman, Bahadurganj. The product team is busy in further action.
