Kathua 18 November (Hindu). A delegation led by Amrish Jasrotia met the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and expressed concern over transfer of land located in the revenue area of Buddhi near village Barwal, Kathua to CIDCO for industrial purposes.
The delegation included local leaders, Panch Pawan Jasrotia, Panch Kuldeep Khajuria and other representatives from nearby villages. The delegation strongly opposed the establishment of industries on the said land, stating that the area is a highly vegetated area with numerous trees and rich presence of wildlife. He stressed that such industrial development would cause significant ecological damage, disrupting the habitat of wild species and damaging the natural environment. Amrish Jasrotia emphasized that the land in question is unsuitable for industrial use and appealed to the Deputy Chief Minister to consider alternative locations.
He highlighted the un.mous stand of the community to protect the natural heritage and ecological balance of the area. Responding to the concerns, the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister assured the delegation of prompt action. He directed CIDCO officials to stop all ongoing work at the site and committed to personally visit the area to assess the situation before taking any further decisions. Residents and local leaders expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister for his wisdom and timely intervention.
