New Delhi: The series of bad news is not ending for the Indian cricket team before the first test match to be played against Australia. After the injuries of Sarfaraz Khan and KL Rahul, now Shubman Gill’s name has also been added to this list. Gill has also got injured in the intra-squad match, due to which Team India’s problems have increased.
Team India is currently playing a warm-up match at the WACA Stadium in Perth. Today is the second day of this match. Gill was fielding in the slips and while taking the catch his finger got injured. Gill is one of India’s leading batsmen and was part of the team on the last tour of Australia.
According to the report of the English newspaper Times of India, sources have confirmed Gill’s injury but have also said that it is too early to say that he will be out of the first Test match. However, the chances of Gill being fit for the first Test starting from 22nd seem unlikely. The reports quoted sources as saying, “Yes, Shubman Gill is injured, but it is too early to say that he is out of the first Test match. The medical team is keeping a close eye on him.”
