Mumbai: Producer Shailendra Singh has created a lot of controversy with his announcement that the second part of ‘Singh is King’ will not be made with Akshay Kumar but with Ranveer Singh or Diljit Dosanje. Akshay Kumar has hit back and argued that he has 50 percent rights of this film. Therefore, it is not possible for anyone to make the second part of this film without Akshay’s consent. On behalf of Akshay Kumar’s legal team, it was said that Akshay Kumar is the co-producer of Singhaaz King and is an equal partner in all the rights, titles, franchises etc. of the film. Neither Shailendra Singh nor anyone else has any monopoly rights to make a prequel, sequel or franchise of this film. There is no legal substance in Shailendra Singh’s claim. Akshay has 50 percent rights of this film. This means that whoever wants to make the second part of the film will have to take Akshay’s consent or make him a partner.
Or Akshay’s NOC will have to be taken. Akshay is not ready for this.
In such a situation, now the plan to make the second part of the film is on hold.
