Latehar, 15 November (HS). On Friday night, unknown criminals traveling on a scooty opened fire in the air at Arun Automobile Petrol Pump located at Chandwa block headquarters of Latehar district. Eyewitnesses told that three youths had come riding on a scooter, one was driving the scooter while two criminals got down on the road and fired in the air. By the time people could understand the incident of aerial firing, the three criminals had fled on a scooter. As soon as information about the incident was received, Chandwa police reached the incident site and started investigation.
According to the information received, for the last two weeks many businessmen of Chandwa are being called continuously by a criminal gang. The criminals had also called the petrol pump operator for extortion. Meanwhile, on Friday night the criminals came near the petrol pump and fired four shots. Here in this regard, Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav said that criminals have carried out this type of incident to spread terror in the area. He said that the culprit is being identified. Soon all the criminals will be arrested.
