ICC Champions Trophy 2025 : The International Cricket Council (ICC) is yet to announce the final schedule of the Champions Trophy but has sent the tournament trophy to Pakistan for the tour of the country starting from November 16. According to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official, the trophy tour will start from Skardu in northern Pakistan. The official said, this tour will pass through the major cities of Pakistan where Champions Trophy matches are to be played.
Trophy sent amid India-Pakistan dispute
This trophy has reached Pakistan at a time when India has refused to send Team India to Pakistan and has demanded to org.ze the tournament in a ‘hybrid model’. ICC has also sought reply from PCB in this matter. The trophy was to be unveiled in Lahore earlier this month. But the ceremony was postponed after India informed the ICC that it would not send a team.
Dubai to Islamabad Lawai Trophy
But the trophy was finally brought from Dubai to Islamabad by ICC officials on Thursday. The tour, which ends on November 24, is part of the ICC’s effort to generate public interest for the Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9 next year. The ICC has not yet made any official announcement or comment on India’s refusal to play in Pakistan. On the other hand, Pakistan on Thursday said there will be no backstage talks with India as the neighboring country has refused to send its cricket team for the Champions Trophy.
