With the end of the leap year festival Diwali in the country, a decline in gold prices is being seen. The futures price of gold in the domestic market was seen trading with a decline on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday, gold for delivery on December 5 was seen trading at Rs 78,321 per 10 grams, down 0.24 per cent or 186 points, on the MCX exchange. Globally, a decline in gold prices was also seen on Wednesday.
huge fall in silver
Along with gold, silver prices also saw a decline on Wednesday morning. However, there has been a huge decline in the prices of silver as compared to gold. In early trade on MCX exchange, silver for delivery on December 5, 2024 was seen trading at Rs 93,180 per kg, down 1.55 per cent or Rs 1,486. At the same time, the silver contract for March 5, 2025 was currently seen trading at Rs 95,674 per kg with a fall of 1.45 percent or Rs 1411.
The global price of gold fell
A decline was seen in the global prices of gold on Wednesday. According to the information, the global price of gold on Comex was seen trading at $ 2746.80 per ounce with a decrease of 0.11 percent or $ 2.99. Whereas gold spot is being sold at $ 2734.67 per ounce with a fall of 0.34 percent or $ 9.32.
Fall in silver prices globally
Global silver prices saw a decline on Wednesday morning. On Comex, silver was seen trading at $ 32.20 an ounce with a fall of 1.75 percent or $ 0.57. Whereas silver spot was seen trading at $ 32.10 an ounce with a fall of 1.71 percent or $ 0.56.

24 karat gold is 99.9 percent pure, and 22 karat gold is approximately 91 percent pure.
Gold is generally sold in 20 and 22 carats. Whereas some people use 18 carat for jewellery.
The price of 24 carat gold is Rs 999, 23 carat is Rs 958, while 22 carat is Rs 916, 21 carat is Rs 875 and 18 carat is Rs 750.
Jewelery is made by mixing 22 carat gold with nine percent other metals like copper, zinc.
There is no adulteration in 24 carat, hence it is found in gold coins, but jewelery is not made of 24 carat gold. For this the shopkeeper sells 18, 20 and 22 carat gold.
