According to Hindu Sanatan Dharma, Shravan month is very special among the Telugu months. According to Hindu tradition, the month of Shravan is considered the most auspicious month. As per the Telugu calendar, Ashadha month ends on 17th July. Shravan month is starting from 19th July. High Shravan is coming this year, so from July 18 to August 16 is High Shravan. The real Shravan begins on 17th August. Nij Shravan will remain till 15th September. Shravan is considered the most auspicious month in Dakshinayan.   • Kumbh Lagna Puja Muhurta (Evening) – 18:22 to 19:50
  • Taurus Ascendant Puja Muhurta (Midnight) – 22:50 to 00:45, August 13

Varalakshmi Vratam Day:

Goddess Varalakshmi is the mother of matchmaking. Varalakshmi Vrat is observed every year on the first Friday of Shukla Poornima in the month of Shravan. In this background, it is a fast observed by women to bring all the blessings to their home. Take an early morning bath, wear washed clothes and clean the puja room. You should fast for the whole day.

Nevaidya should be offered at the time of fast..Kada should be tied in the hand. After that all the Muttaidhus should be given Tambul and Tirtha Prasad should be given. Prasad offered to Amma should be eaten on the same day. Along with this, fasting should be done till night. Scholars say that there are no major rules for this fast.

On the day of Varalakshmi Vrat, worship should not be done while thinking about something in the mind.. being distracted.
