According to local media reports, the landslide occurred when children were playing cricket in Martung area of Shangla district. The age of all the children was between 12-14 years.
According to media reports, around 9 to 14 children were playing cricket at the time of the accident. Then it rained heavily and the children got trapped in it. Eight children died in the accident, while one child is said to be missing. Some children were trapped in the debris of the landslide, who were brought out safely after the rescue operation. According to the report, the condition of one of the rescued children has become critical after the rescue operation, who has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
