Kolkata, 7 July (Hindustan Times). A Congress candidate’s brother has been murdered on Friday ahead of the polling in West Bengal on Saturday. His name is Arvind Mandal. With this, the death toll has risen to 20 in the violence that took place at the center during the panchayat elections in the last one month. State Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary has given information about this on Friday. He told that Trinamool people are behind this attack and the police is not taking any action.
Local sources said that the incident took place in Raipur village under Herampur circle of Murshidabad district. Trinamool people also attacked Congress workers here during the night. Some Congress workers had their heads torn in it. All of them were admitted to Domkal Hospital at night itself. After that, on Friday morning, Arvind Mandal, brother of the Congress candidate from here, was sitting in front of the house when Trinamool people surrounded him and continued to beat him brutally. When he was taken to Domkal Hospital in a blood-soaked condition, the doctors declared him brought dead. It has been told that a pacemaker was fitted in Arvind’s heart. Despite this, they have been brutally beaten up. Now a written complaint has been lodged in this matter but no one has been arrested.
