From July 1, 2023, Central Government employees will be eligible for the new Dearness Allowance. It is expected that the government can increase DA Arrear by 4 percent. However, before this, the employees of the Gujarat government were happy with this news. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has increased the DA of state employees under the Seventh Pay Commission.
Now 9.50 lakh employees and pensioners will get its benefit.
According to the instructions of the government, 9.50 lakh employees and pensioners of the state government have now come under the purview of the Seventh Pay Commission. These workers will get relief from the increase in DA Arrear and dearness relief. The administration will implement the 8 per cent hike in DA in two phases. The first 4% DA hike will be effective from 1 July 2022. While the last 4% DA hike will be effective from January 1, 2023. The increase in Dearness Allowance was done as per the rules of the Central Government.
Arrear will be paid in three easy installments
The government will release the previous balance in three instalments. The remaining amount will be paid in three instalments. The first installment of DA Arrear will be given along with the salary of June. Similarly, the second and third installments will be included in the salary for October 2023. The government told the public that increasing the Dearness Allowance would cost the public an additional Rs 4,516 crore. Gujarat State Government had earlier announced 3% Dearness Allowance in August 2022. Which came into force on January 1, 2022.

Due to the Corona epidemic, the central government had banned all allowances given to central employees from January 2020 to June 2021. In such a situation, the central employees were getting only their basic salary and all their Dearness Allowance was stopped by the government. As soon as the economy came back on track, the allowances of all the employees were started back but till now they have not been given DA Hike for 18 months, that is why the central employees are constantly demanding that their dearness allowance should be reduced. Lakhs of employees and pensioners will be benefited
According to media reports, after the announcement of the cabinet, 48 lakh central employees and 69 lakh pensioners will get its benefit. The Dearness Allowance hike will be applicable from January 2023. That is, there is going to be an increase in the March salary of central employees. In this, DA Arrear of two months will also be added along with the increased DA.
Government’s financial expenditure will increase after DA hike
According to media reports, the increase in Dearness Allowance will put a financial burden of Rs 14,951.52 crore on the government in 14 months. The central government will spend Rs 7,646.8 crore in 14 months on the DA Hike of the employees. At the same time, it will bear Rs 6261.2 crore annually for inflation relief.
DA Arrear Payment Date Announced: How much salary will increase in July
Employees whose basic salary is minimum Rs 18 thousand, after the increase in DA (DA Hike), their salary will increase by Rs 720 per month. After receiving DA arrears of two months of January and February and increased Dearness Allowance in March, Rs 2160 more will come.
