Gorakhpur/Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a boost to development as he visits two districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh, participates in the centenary celebrations of Gita Press and flags off two Vande Bharat Express trains in Gorakhpur, besides Rs 29 crore Will launch development projects. 12,100 crores in Varanasi on Friday.
In Varanasi, the Prime Minister will hold a tiffin meeting with party workers, interact with them and teach them lessons on strengthening the party org.zation at the booth level ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He said, “We have made all preparations to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will take them on a tour of the Leela Chitra temple, which depicts stories of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva and a picture of Mahatma Gandhi, said Lal M. Tiwari, manager of Geeta Press. He claimed that Modi would be the first Prime Minister to visit the Gita Press.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Gorakhpur comes almost three weeks after the controversy over the Centre’s decision to confer the Gandhi Peace Prize-2021 on June 18, 2023, to the org.zation for its contribution to social, economic and political change through non-violence and other Gandhians . methods. Prime Minister Modi headed the panel which un.mously decided to confer the award on Gita Press. However, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh courted controversy when he termed the central government’s decision to confer the award on Gita Press as a ‘joke’.
The Prime Minister will also reach Gorakhpur Railway Station to flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains and lay the foundation stone for Rs 498 crore remodeling of Gorakhpur Railway Station. He will inaugurate the 125 kilometer long electrified rail track between Bhatni and Aurihar there. In Varanasi, he will inaugurate 29 development projects worth Rs 12,110 crore. The Prime Minister will also address a public meeting at Wajidpur which is expected to be attended by around 50,000 people.
Kashi region BJP president Dilip Singh Patel said, “The prime minister will inaugurate 19 projects worth over Rs 10,720 crore and lay the foundation stone for 10 projects worth over Rs 1,389 crore. He will also interact with 20 beneficiaries of various schemes. He told that the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with 120 BJP workers at DLW guest house.
During the Tiffin meeting, Modi will talk to party workers and give a ‘mantra’ to strengthen the party at every booth. BJP workers will inform them about the status of their respective wards and the development projects brought in Varanasi in the last nine years. He will inaugurate the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Junction-Sone Nagar railway line of the Dedicated Freight Corridor there. Built at a cost of over Rs 6,760 crore, the new line will facilitate faster and efficient movement of goods. He will dedicate to the nation three railway lines, whose electrification has been completed at a cost of over Rs 990 crore.
These include Ghazipur City-Aunrihar Rail Line, Aunrihar-Jaunpur Line and Bhatni-Aunrihar Line. This will mark the completion of 100 per cent electrification of railway lines in Uttar Pradesh.
