Relief Package: Monsoon has been very good in Gujarat this season and farmers have suffered huge losses due to heavy rains in many districts of the state. The government has announced a relief package. At least 950 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have suffered losses in the state due to heavy rains.
Due to losses in the MSME sector, industrialists are now demanding a relief package, hence for this the Gujarat government has sought a relief package of Rs 368.11 crore from the Central Government. The Central Government gave this information in response to a question by MP Parimal Nathw. in the Rajya Sabha.

MP Parimal Nathw. questioned how many industrial units were submerged due to rain in the industrial estate and whether the government has received any request for relief or compensation for the losses.
958 industrial units were damaged
In her written reply to the ongoing Parliament session on November 25, Union Minister of State for MSME Shobha Karandlaje said that as per information received from the Gujarat government, 958 industrial units have been affected due to heavy rains this monsoon.
Demand for relief package
“Representations received from Gujarat have sought relief or compensation of Rs 36,811 lakh for loss of production due to heavy rains and floods,” the minister said in his written reply.
Extensive damage in Vadodara district
There has been widespread rainfall in various parts of the state, with MSMEs in Vadodara district being the most affected. In September, the Gujarat government announced a relief package for MSMEs in the district, which was hit by heavy flooding following widespread rains.
