The time of great relief and good news has come for those who do government jobs. The Central Government has cleared the 8th Pay Commission in January 2025. If everything goes on according to the fixed plan, then this commission can be applicable from 2026.

Earlier, the 7th Pay Commission was implemented in the year 2016, and now after almost a decade, the salary structure of the employees is going to change again.

According to reports, the fitment factor is expected to increase from 2.86 to 3.5 or more. This will directly affect the basic salary. For example, if an employee of Level 1 is currently taking a basic salary of Rs 18,000, it can increase to Rs 51,480 after the new fitment.

And this formula will apply to employees of all salary levels (1 to 10).

Who benefits from this change?

  • Employees of the lower pay class will benefit the most as there will be a huge difference in their current salary.
  • Pensioners will also get re -calculated pension according to their retirement, which will increase their income.
  • Facilities like grade pay and HRA can also increase on the basis of new pay scale.

How long can the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?

However, its official date has not been announced yet, but indications are being indicated that it can be implemented after the 2026 general budget. Right now the government is churning closely on this and the suggestions of employee organizations are also being kept in mind.
