Delhi Police has arrested both the accused in Chandni Chowk, solving the robbery of Rs 80 lakh. The police have not only recovered the entire amount, but the weapon used in the incident has also been seized.
What was the matter?
- On the evening of 17 April, a bag full of money was looted from a person in Chandni Chowk.
- DCP Raja Banthia of North Delhi said that a complaint of this robbery was lodged at Lahori Gate Police Station.
- The police immediately identified the two accused involved in the incident with the help of special staff and arrested within 24 hours.
Who are the accused and how were they caught?
First accused: Mohammad Ali (21 years) – Daryaganj resident
Second accused: Sameer (19 years) – Daryaganj resident
How to rob?
- Mohammad Ali identified the person carrying the cash and Reiki on the occasion.
- Sameer snatched the bag by showing weapons and both escaped.
How was the arrest?
- The police first tracked Mohammad Ali from the facial recognition system.
- After his arrest, he named Sameer, who was immediately caught.
- 79.5 lakh rupees in cash and weapons used in the incident were recovered from Sameer’s house.
Mohammad Ali has looted before!
- In 2023, he was involved in the robbery of 10 lakhs at Chandni Chowk.
- Sameer did not get any old criminal record.
- Both of them had done Reiki of the area before the incident and discovered when, where and how the cash is taken.
DCP statement
DCP Raja Banthia told,
“We arrested both the accused within 24 hours of the robbery and also recovered the entire looted amount.”
The person from whom the bag was snatched was going from Kucha Ghasiram to Hyder Coolie.
Weapons and 79.5 lakh rupees were recovered from Sameer’s house.
