Mumbai: A molestation incident has been reported at a prominent hospital in Byculla. According to the police, a 78-year-old patient allegedly molested a 29-year-old nurse on January 2 around 6:30 PM. A case has been registered at the Byculla Police Station based on the nurse’s complaint.
The accused, Rashid Salim (78), arrived from Oman with his two sons on December 31 for medical treatment. He underwent an angioplasty at the Byculla hospital. On January 2, while a nurse was administering a syringe, Salim allegedly touched her private parts, causing her humiliation and distress. The nurse immediately reported the incident, leading to a case of molestation being filed against Salim.
Police stated that Salim’s heart function is currently at 20%, and doctors have advised him to undergo pacemaker implantation. A notice has been served to Salim to record his statement, but the police are awaiting his recovery before proceeding with questioning.
