Palghar: In a shocking incident, a woman who was seeking treatment for her husband in a hospital in Boisar area in Palghar was run over by a doctor’s car in the hospital premises. The whole incident was captured on CCTV footage.
Chayalata Arekar, A 70-year-old woman tragically lost her life in an accident outside main entrance within the premises of TAPS Hospital in Boisar, Mumbai, on the morning of April 9. The woman had accompanied her husband, Vishwanath Arekar to the TAPS hospital for his treatment.
The CCTV camera footage shows, the elderly 70-year-old woman exiting through the main gate of the TAPS hospital, while crossing the road, a red Maruti Estilo was seen emerging and taking a turn near the gate as the woman was crossing the road and the car runs over and drags woman as she comes under it. The elderly woman succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene.
The vehicle involved was being driven by a doctor, who has since been arrested by the Tarapur police. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

A dreadful accident took place in Manor, Palghar district, on March 30 when a tanker plummeted from a bridge, resulting in the death of its driver, 29-year-old Ashish Kumar Yadav. The tanker transporting base oils was en route on the Mumbai-Gujarat highway when it swerved off the bridge and fell onto the service road close to Manor Junction, according to reports. A video shared on X by journalist Vishal Singh captures the precise moments of the terrible crash. In the footage, an oil-laden tanker is seen plunging off the bridge. Three to four men are spotted fleeing for their lives, narrowly evading death as the massive tanker appears unexpectedly.
The Manor police reported that Yadav died from his injuries at the scene. Despite the accident releasing hundreds of liters of dense black oil over the intersection, no further incidents took place. Thankfully, no other people sustained injuries in the event, reported Times of India.
