The Union magazine states that the government’s land information website states that according to the data of February 2021, the Government of India has about 15531 sq km of land, while the Waqf Board also has a large amount of land. However, this land is still less than the land owned by the Catholic Church. According to the report, the Indian Catholic Church has seven crore hectares of land in India.

The estimated price of all these assets has been estimated at Rs 20 thousand crore. Due to which churches play a very important role in real estate in India. Most of the land owned by churches is of the British period. Earlier in 1965, a circular was issued by the government to withdraw the land leased to the churches, although it was not implemented properly. It was said in this circular of the Government of India that the leases given by the British government to the churches at present have no importance. Amid the action on Waqf’s land, there is also a debate on whether the government will now take any action regarding the land of Christian religious places. The Sangh has now attracted the attention of the government to this. However, there are also reports that later the Sangh mouthpiece removed this article from its website.

After Waqf, now RSS’s eye on Christian land: Rahul

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has claimed that after the Waqf, now the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is eyeing the land of the Christian community and only the constitutional armor can protect all these people. The Union’s mouthpiece organizer published an article that compared the land owned by Christian religious institutions and the land owned by Muslim Waqfs. Regarding this, Rahul Gandhi raised these questions on the Sangh and the Central Government, as well as claimed that the Waqf Bill has been brought only to target Muslims, but in future this bill can be used as an example to target people of other religions as well. The Sangh did not delay in attracting the attention of the government towards Christians. The constitution is the only armor that can save our people from this attack.
