Pune: 68 Officers, Including 5 Foreign Nationals, Awarded B-Tech Degrees At College Of Military Engineering | Sourced

In a convocation ceremony held on Tuesday at Sarvatra Hall of the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, 31 officers of the Engineer Officers Degree Engineering (EODE) Course and 37 officers of the Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Course including two officers from Bhutan and one officer each from Sri Lanka, Nepal and Zimbabwe were conferred with B-Tech degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering under the aegis of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.

The chief guest for the occasion was Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding -in-Chief, Southern Command who also delivered the valedictory address. The chief guest, in his valedictory address, emphasised that the graduating officers would face greater challenges in view of the increasing complexities in infrastructure requirements of the defence forces. In order to meet the challenges, he exhorted the young officers to keep themselves updated with the advancements in technology and apply their knowledge on ground, by using innovative methods.

Lieutenant General AK Ramesh, Commandant, College of Military Engineering (CME) also addressed the graduating officers and encouraged them to continuously hone their professional skills by keeping abreast with the latest developments in the field of engineering.

The academic report for the Autumn Term – 2024 was presented by Major General Gaurav Kaushal, Deputy Commandant and Dean, College of Military Engineering (CME).

The prestigious gold medal for standing first in the course in B-Tech (Civil Engineering) was awarded to Captain Divas Negi from EODE-126 course and Lieutenant Mohak Walia from TES-42 (Civil Engineering) course. Captain Lalit Kumar was awarded the gold medal and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command (ARTRAC) award for Best Student for B-Tech (Electrical Engineering) and Lieutenant Adamya Pratap Singh was awarded the same for TES-42 (Mechanical Engineering). The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command (ARTRAC) award for Best Student in B-Tech (Civil Engineering) was awarded to Captain Purnima Tiwari for EODE-126 course and Lieutenant Amandeep Singh for TES-42 course.

The student officers presented projects carried out by them on contemporary and relevant topics, imbibing the knowledge acquired in civil engineering, geographical information system, mechanical and electrical engineering subjects.
