A total of 57 teams  registered for the 40+ Cricket Tournament organized by the Sports and Cultural Department of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC). 

The civic administration conducts the initiatives to provide an opportunity for former players from Navi Mumbai’s old villages and urban areas to return to the field and enjoy competitive cricket once again. 

The tournament is held in collaboration with the 40+ Cricket Association at Plot No. 4, Sector-15A. 

The tournament was inaugurated by the Minister of Forests, Maharashtra State, Ganesh Naik. 

During the inaugural address, Ganesh Naik praised the 40+ Cricket Association for its social initiatives in Navi Mumbai. He emphasized the importance of maintaining good health after the age of 40, urging everyone to adopt a healthy and addiction-free lifestyle by engaging in sports, walking, and practicing daily exercise, yoga, and pranayama. He also stressed the need for regular health check-ups every three months and immediate medical intervention when required.

The Minister further highlighted that the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Cup 40+ Cricket Tournament is not just a platform for cricket enthusiasts but also a means to bring people together, transcending caste and community differences, and fostering collective efforts towards the city’s development.

Also present on the occasion were Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar, Deputy Commissioner Abhilasha Patil, Executive Engineer Madan Waghchaude, Deputy Engineer Pandharinath Chavde, Sports Officer Revappa Gurav, President of the 40+ Cricket Association Pradeep Patil, and other dignitaries.
