Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Carrying out a major action against the illegal transportation of minerals, a joint team of revenue and mineral departments, along with police, seized 53 dumpers of sand and one dumper of murum on the maiden day of the New Year.
Revenue as a fine amounting to Rs 1.50 crore is expected to be obtained from the action. Effective action is being taken by running a campaign under the direction of collector Asheesh Singh against those involved in illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals in the district.
In this connection, under the guidance of additional collector Jyoti Sharma, the mineral department took major action with the cooperation of the revenue department and police on Wednesday.
Additional collector Sharma informed that vehicles transporting minerals were checked by running a drive. Action was taken against a total of 54 dumpers in the case.
Further action will be taken by registering a case under Madhya Pradesh Mineral (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules 2022 on all the vehicles seized for illegal transportation. The action is taken against the people doing illegal business from Reti Mandi. From the action, the state government is likely to get an additional Rs 1.5 crore in revenue as a fine.
