Mumbai: A 52-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his relatives over a property dispute on the morning of Friday, December 27, at Matches Factory Lane in Kurla West. The Kurla police have registered a case of murder against five individuals connected to the incident, who were arrested later that night.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Kasam Beg, a resident of Husaini Compound, Matches Factory Lane, Kurla West. Kasam Beg, who worked as a driver with Mahindra Company, had been embroiled in a long-standing property dispute with his uncle’s sons over his maternal family’s assets.
On Friday, around 11 a.m., a heated argument broke out between Kasam Beg and his cousins over disposing of household garbage, which quickly escalated into a discussion about the ongoing property dispute. During the altercation, his cousins allegedly physically assaulted him. Kasam Beg lost his balance, fell to the ground, and suffered a severe head injury. He was rushed to Bhabha Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Upon being informed of the incident, Kurla police rushed to the hospital, recorded statements from relatives, and registered a murder case against the five cousins. The accused were detained and arrested later that evening, as per the latest information provided by the authorities.
