Mhow: 50 Illegal Structures Razed In City, Action Taken To Remove Illegal Constructions Along City Roads | FPJ

Mhow (Madhya Pradesh): On Tuesday, a major campaign was launched against illegal encroachments in the city. The campaign was carried out jointly by cantonment, police and administration and involved demolition of illegal structures in various parts of the city.

Action was taken to remove illegal constructions along city roads, which had become a hazard to traffic and public safety. A joint team of Cantonment Board, administration, Police and the Revenue Department launched a campaign to remove illegal constructions in the city.

The campaign used JCB machines to demolish illegal structures. According to City Engineer HS Koley of Cantonment Board, the team included officials Rakesh Parmar, Additional Superintendent of Police Rupesh Dwivedi, Tehsildar Vivek Soni and Thana In-charge Rahul Sharma.

Despite prior public notices through newspapers and other means, the Cantonment Board’s warnings had little impact on city residents. On Tuesday, a large police force was deployed along with patwaris, kotwars and revenue patwaris. The campaign demolished over 50 illegal encroachments, including shops built on otlas (public spaces).

The joint operation by Cantonment Board, Police and Revenue Department continued until 3 pm. After demolishing an illegal encroachment near Moti Mahal Cinema, local residents staged a protest and shouted slogans, but later calmed down after being pacified. The City Engineer of Cantonment Board stated that the campaign will continue unabated and illegal encroachments will be removed through joint efforts.
