Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Five people including a woman were booked for allegedly misbehaving with a policeman in the Kanadiya area, police said on Tuesday.
The car of a woman was stopped by the police officers during a checking drive and the car driver was found under the influence of liquor and when the policeman was taking the car to the police station, four men in another car stopped him and misbehaved with him. Kanadiya police station in-charge Yogendra Singh Sisodiya informed Free Press that SI Ram Shakya and his team were deployed in the Bicholi Mardana area for vehicle checking when they stopped a car in the wee hours of Monday and found the driver under the influence of liquor.
Shakya booked the driver under section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act and told policeman Sonu Gurjar to take the car to the police station. The woman named Poonam was also sitting in the car.
She told Sonu to drop her at the police station as she would reach home in another car from there. Meanwhile, after receiving a call from Poonam, her relatives reached the Bypass road and stopped the car.
They also misbehaved with Sonu alleging that he had no authority to take their car to the police station. One of them also made a video when a man was misbehaving with the policeman. On coming to know about the same, a police force from the police station reached the spot and took all of them to the police station.
A case under the section of assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty was registered against Prashant Gothi, Ayush Gothi, Rahul Grower, Amay Shukla and Poonam all residents of Kalyan Sampat Garden. The accused were detained on the same day and were released on a notice and further investigation is on into the case.
