5 Arrested For Stealing Truck Consisting Iron Rids Worth ₹29 Lakh In Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain | Representative Image
Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Ujjain police arrested 5 for stealing a truck loaded with iron rods worth ₹29 lakh, as reported by police on Friday.
According to information, the truck was stolen from Badnagar in Ujjain two days ago. The five accused hail from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
On May 7, complainant Rajesh Barod, resident of Badnagar, had filed a report that 18-feet-long iron rods were kept in the truck parked in his plot. When he woke up in the morning, the truck was missing.
The truck and the iron kept in it were worth about Rs 29 lakh. In view of the big theft, the police registered a case against the unknown accused.
Truck and iron rods seized
The Badnagar police station, with the help of cyber cell Ujjain, Bhopal and Hoshangabad police, located the thieves. They were members of the interstate theft gang.
Accused identified as Ajay, son of Dharmaraj Pawar (25); Kunwar Singh, son of Pila Kalam Singh (22); Ratan Singh, son of Kalam Singh (24); T. Srinivasan, son of Thangaraj (44) and Neeraj Kumar, son of Sher Singh Korche (21).
Regarding the incident, ASP Mayur Khandelwal said that after the incident, the accused were traced with the help of CCTV footages and arrested. The arrested miscreants are associated with the interstate gang and had come to Barnagar on the pretext of working as laborers.
He said, the gang leader is Ajay Pawar. The five are being taken on remand, other cases may be revealed sometime after interrogation.
