Islamabad: A 5.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded on the Richter scale near the capital Islamabad on Saturday afternoon. The National Astronomy Center reported that its center was 10 km away. However, there is no news of any casualties or loss of property due to this earthquake. The earthquake latitude was recorded at 33.63 (North) and longitude 72.46 (East).
The earthquake was felt in Shopian, Srinagar and Visakhapatnam in Jammu and Kashmir.
The news of Pakistan’s ARY reports that the earthquake near Islamabad, Chinur, Mianwali, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Gujaratwala, Sangalatis, Safarabad, Pindi-Bij and Attaks were affected and people came out of houses, offices and shops.
Different intensity earthquakes often occur in Pakistan. These include a terrible earthquake in 2005. In which 74,000 people were killed.
