Nashik: 45-Foot-Tall Statue Of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj To Be Unveiled On February 19 | Sourced

The Ashok Stambh Shivjanmotsav Mitra Mandal Samiti is set to erect a grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj seated on a 45-foot-high throne as part of this year’s celebrations. The Shiv Aarti will be performed on February 19 at 6.30am, and a traditional costume competition has been organised to mark the occasion.

Over the past two years, the committee has been known for creating massive statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, including a 61-foot-tall statue in 2023 and a 65-foot-tall statue in 2024, which was recorded in the Wonder Book of Records. This year, the statue is being crafted using 1,000 kg of iron and FRP (fibre-reinforced plastic) material, with work continuing for the past three months.

The primary aim of the initiative is to spread the thoughts, valour, and ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. A traditional dress competition for couples has been planned, with winners receiving Rs 21,000 for the first position, Rs 15,000 for the second, Rs 11,000 for the third, and Rs 5,000 for the fourth position. The 45-foot statue is being constructed under the guidance of Hemant Patole, Hitesh Patole, and their team, who have been working tirelessly to complete the project. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti Association is overseeing the event with founder president Venkatesh More, along with key members Vaibhav Veer, Anand Fartale, Sameer Vyavaye, and Santosh Borse.
