Palghar, Maharashtra: A 42-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a temple in Palghar district, stealing an idol, a silver crown, and Rs.15,000 in cash.

Subash Shitalprasad Kevat, from Nashik district, is accused of breaking into the Samudri Mata temple near Pimpal Naka, Chinchani, on the night of February 27-28. District Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil confirmed the theft, which included a silver Lord Shiva idol, a silver crown, and the cash.

Patil stated, “After working on several inputs, we successfully tracked down and arrested Kevat. All the stolen valuables have been recovered, and further legal proceedings are ongoing.”
