Mumbai: A shocking murder case has emerged from the Kurla East area of Mumbai, where a daughter stabbed her elderly mother multiple times with a knife, resulting in her death.

After committing the murder, the accused daughter went directly to the Chunabhatti police station and confessed to her crime.

Chunabhatti police have filed a murder case against the deceased’s daughter and arrested her. The arrested woman has been identified as Reshma Kazi (41), while her mother was Sabira Bano (62).

Police officer stated that, during the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the accused woman had been angry with her mother for repeatedly praising her elder sister and showing her more affection.

This anger led to the tragic act of murder. After killing her mother, Reshma called her brother to inform him about the incident and then went to the Chunabhatti police station to surrender.

According to the police, the woman’s mental state is perfectly fine, and they are investigating the case from all angles.

DCP of Zone 6, Navnath Dhawale, confirmed the arrest of Reshma Kazi and stated that they have taken a statement from her elder sister, Jainabbi Naushad Qureshi, who confirmed that Reshma is mentally healthy.

The police are working to determine the exact motive behind the murder.

According to the police, the incident took place on the evening of January 2, between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM at Qureshi Nagar in Kurla, Where accused lives with family. The deceased, Sabira Bano, lived in Mumbra and had come to visit her daughter, Reshma Kazi, in Kurla’s Qureshi Nagar.

Reportedly, Reshma was upset because her mother showed more love and support to her elder sister, who lives in Pune, and always praised her when she visited.

That evening, an intense argument broke out between the two over this issue. In a fit of rage, Reshma stabbed her mother four times with a knife, causing her death on the spot.

Afterward, she locked the house and called her brother to inform him about the murder. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
