Secunderabad: The police in Hyderabad has formed four teams to probe the shocking incident where a 23-year-old woman sustained injuries after she jumped from a moving train in an attempt to escape an alleged rape attempt by a man near Gundla Pochampally railway station in Telangana on Sunday night.
Hyderabad SP North Zone Chandana Deepti said, “We have formed four teams, which are looking out for evidences in the form of CCTV footages eyewitness and any other human intelligence.”
The woman is now undergoing treatment at the Gandhi hospital. According to GRP officials, the 23-year-old woman boarded the train from Secunderabad and was on her way to Medchal. She had come to Secunderabad to get her phone repaired.
How The Incident Unfolded
The woman entered the ladies’ coach of the MMTS (Multi Modal Transport Service) train. Two other women who were in the same coach, got down at Alwal station.
Shortly after, when the woman was alone in the compartment, a 25-year-old man tried to force himself and to save herself the woman jumped off the moving train near Gundla Pochampally railway station.
On noticing her lying near the tracks the locals informed the police who rushed her to the hospital.
The woman suffered bleeding injuries to her head, chin, right hand, and waist and is currently under observation.
The woman told the cops, she will be able to identify the assaulter if she sees him again.
The victim is reportedly, a private sector employee originally from Uravakonda in Anantapur, was staying in a working women’s hostel in Medchal.
