The Congress government of Karnataka has decided to give 4 percent reservation to Muslim contractors in government tenders , The Siddaramaiah government has approved the amendment of the Karnataka Public Procurement Act, 1999. The maximum limit of tender has been kept at Rs 2 crore. According to the information received from the sources, the bill for this change will be brought to the Legislative Assembly in this budget session. After passing from the assembly, the way to give 4 percent reservation to Muslims in the tenders of the Government of Karnataka will be cleared.

BJP protested

The BJP is an attacker on this decision of the Congress government. BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala criticized the decision of the Karnataka cabinet, saying that the Congress party has adopted the politics of appeasement at every level. Those who talk about the constitution are going against Ambedkar and are giving reservation on the basis of religion. Earlier it was believed that only a competent contractor would build the pool, but now people have to see which religion the person who makes the pool is. This reflects the Muslim League-Jinnah mindset of the Congress. Will contracts be given on the basis of religion now?

Ravi Shankar asked questions

BJP leader Ravi Shankar said that the Congress -led Karnataka government has publicly announced in its budget that there will be 4 percent reservation for Muslims in government tenders. Till now we have heard about reservation in jobs, now they are reserving government tenders for Muslims. This is the culmination of appeasement.

Earlier, on March 7, while presenting the budget of the Government of Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed that four percent of the contracts for public building work will now be reserved for Muslims under Category-IIB.
