Morena (Madhya Pradesh): Four youths, planning to break into a house to commit robbery, were arrested from a mustard crop field near Bamba bypass road in Morena district late Thursday night, the police said. Sixteen live cartridges worth Rs 1.25 lakh and a dozen firearms were seized from their possession.
The youths were planning to loot the house of the deputy chairman of Morena Municipal Corporation Hariom Rajoria in Mudiakheda village. The arrested criminals were remanded in police custody.
According to reports, the police got a tipoff that a few youths were seen moving under mysterious circumstances towards Bamba road in Imlia area. Three teams rushed to the spot and challenged the suspects. Just as they saw the police party, the youths began to run away.
The police team caught four of them. When they were quizzed, they said two of them were from the Bara area in Rajasthan and two from the Ambah area in Morena district, Madhya Pradesh. Twelve firearms and 16 live cartridges were confiscated from their possession.
The youths further said they had planned to loot the house of deputy chairman of Nagar Palika. According to them, three of their accomplices ran away. Superintendent of police Sameer Saurabh said that the presence of criminals from Rajasthan was worrisome. He also confirmed that nearly a dozen firearms and live cartridges were seized from their possession. The police began to inquire into the case, Saurabh said.
