National Lok Adalat In Ujjain: 3,927 Cases Resolved, Awards Of ₹13.47 Crore Passed | FP Photo
Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): In the National Lok Adalat organised on Saturday, a total of 3,927 pre-litigation and pending judicial cases were resolved and settlement of Rs 13,47,25,411 was done and a total of 5,972 parties were benefited.
Out of 7,902 pre-litigation cases kept in Lok Adalat, 2,029 cases were resolved and out of 2,193 cases referred from pending cases in courts, 201 cases of cheque bounce, 28 cases of matrimonial dispute, 9 cases of labour court and 16 cases of consumer forum commission, 1,298 cases were resolved and awards of Rs 9,94,66,335 were passed, in which awards of Rs 2,74,16,000 were passed to the victims in 51 motor accident claim cases.

Prior to it, while inaugurating the programme principal district and sessions judge and district legal service authority (DLSA) chairman Rajesh Kumar Gupta said, ‘Lok Adalat is a simple and free medium of providing easy and accessible justice to parties to the dispute on the basis of agreement. Settlement of cases in Lok Adalat saves time and money of parties and also maintains mutual brotherhood and harmony.’
Special judge and convenor of National Lok Adalat Sunil Kumar, district judge and secretary Kapil Bhardwaj, Family Court judge Kiran Singh, Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Bar Association president Ashok Yadav, vice-president Mukesh Upadhyay, treasurer Mahendra Solanki, district legal aid officer Chandresh Mandloi and other judicial officers, bank officials and panel lawyers were present.
