Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): About 375 students from different parts of Madhya Pradesh will embark on a Vigyan Manthan Yatra on Tuesday morning. The students both boys and girls are from Classes 9-12 who have opted for the science stream.
The students have been selected through a vigorous selection process. The state was divided into five zones – east, west, north, south and central – and 75 students were picked from each zone. The objective of the Yatra is to introduce the schoolers to advancements in science and technology.
The children will leave Bhopal on Tuesday morning by the Vande Bharat Express. One group will travel to Delhi and visit National Science Centre, National Institute of Plant Genomic Research (NIPGR), Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) and Rashtrapati Bhawan and Delhi Local.
The other group will head to Chandigarh, where it will visit Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIR-CSOIR), Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER), Punjab State Council of Science & Technology (PSCST), National institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER) and Government Museum & Art Gallery (DANISC). They will also be meeting the scientists working in these institutions.
CM to host dinner today
The Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will host a dinner at his residence for all the students on Monday evening. “The chief minister is throwing a banquet in honour of the future scientists of the country,” says an official of the Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology (MPST), an agency which has been organising the Vigyan Manthan Yatra for the past 16 years.
