Mumbai: Police constable Subhash Kangane, 37, allegedly committed suicide on Monday around 4pm. He was posted at Kurar Police Station and took his own life by hanging himself at his residence. The reason behind the suicide has not yet been determined.
An accidental death case has been registered at Dindoshi Police Station, and further investigation is underway. Senior Police Inspector Ajay Aphale of Dindoshi Police Station stated.
Senior police officer and DCP Smita Patil of the police station reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported, and the police have started an investigation.
The police have not issued any official statement yet. Police officers said the case is being investigated in depth. Co-workers and family members of Constable Kangane will be interrogated to determine the real reason behind the suicide.
Subhash Kangane was transferred from Malwani Police Station to Kurar Police Station three months ago.
