Bhopal: 35-Year-Old Man Found Dead At Home; Knife Wielding Goons Held On Way To Gambling Den | Representational Image
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh):
A 35-year-old man was found dead at his house at Phase-5 of Ayodhya Nagar on Thursday morning, police said here on Friday.
According to police officials, Kamlesh Pathekar, originally from Betul district, was discovered dead by his cousins who had arrived from their village two days prior. Kamlesh ate dinner on April 3 and went to bed, but did not wake till 9 am on Thursday. Concerned, his cousins phoned a close acquaintance, Tulsiram Pawar, who informed authorities.
Assistant sub-inspector Sanjay Chaubey who is leading the investigation said that they suspected that Kamlesh was the victim of a silent attack, but the specific cause of death was still being investigated. Kamlesh, who had lately lost his job in marketing, had been living alone and his wife, a nurse at a private hospital, remained on campus. They had been married for seven years and had no children, said ASI Chaubey.
The body has been sent for the post-mortem at Hamidia Hospital. The report is awaited.
2 goons with knives on way to gambling den, held
Two men from Chhola Mandir area were arrested for carrying knives to a gambling den on Thursday night.
Tila Jamalpura police said on Friday that duo identified as Narendra Sahu (30) and Amit Pal (32) were riding a bike when they were stopped for questioning at a check post in Vasundhara Colony. Police recovered two knives from them during the search.
According to police station incharge DP Singh, the checkpoint was set up following complaints of suspicious activity near Hari Mazar Basti. Investigation revealed that the accused were on their way to a nearby gambling den. The accused told police that conflicts frequently occurred during gambling sessions, a reason they carried knives for protection.
Both have a criminal record with Narendra facing 13 major criminal charges at police stations. Amit too has cases against him, said TI Singh.
The police have filed a case against them under Arms Act. The police have stepped up vigil in the region, and authorities are now looking for owners of illegal gambling establishment.
