A 33-year-old biker, identified as Chetan Bhausaheb Tipale, lost his life in a hit-and-run accident after being struck by an unidentified vehicle in Bhiwandi. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the incident.

The tragedy occurred on Friday morning on the Anjurphata-Mankoli road near Dapoda village. According to the police, Chetan was riding towards Dapoda village when a vehicle, driven recklessly, hit him from behind. The impact caused him to fall onto the road, sustaining severe injuries.

Local residents rushed to his aid and alerted the authorities. Chetan was transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.

The Narpoli police have registered a case against the unidentified driver under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (106(A): Causing Death by Negligence, 281: Rash Driving) and the Motor Vehicle Act (184: Dangerous Driving, 134(A): Duty of Driver in Case of Accident).

The case was filed by Ramesh Ganpat Waghmare, the deceased’s father-in-law. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicle involved and locate the suspect.
