The event ‘Yugantar 2047,’ organised to motivate youth to join the Indian Army, received an enthusiastic response on Monday in Pune. Around 3,000 NCC cadets from various prominent institutions participated in the initiative.

The Indian Army and Punit Balan Group (PBG) collaborated for the ‘Nation Building’ seminar. Discussions centred around ‘Youth, Yoga and Technology,’ regarded as key pillars of the country’s progress.

The Chief Guest, Lieutenant General Anoop Singhal, Director General of Recruiting for the Indian Army, New Delhi, addressed the students. Other dignitaries included Major General Yogesh Chaudhary from the Administrative Department, Southern Command, Pune, PBG President Punit Balan, RMD Foundation President Janhavi Dhariwal-Balan and Brigadier Saurabh Singh Shekhawat (Retd).

During his speech, Lt Gen Singhal highlighted the crucial role of the Indian Army in nation building and encouraged the youth to join the Army, emphasising their contribution to India’s development. His speech instilled a sense of patriotism and social responsibility in the students.

Multiple sessions supported by PBG featured motivational speeches from senior Army officers, career guidance and a presentation on career opportunities in the Indian Army. NDA cadets shared their transformative experiences, and renowned speaker Jaya Kishori delivered a motivational lecture stressing the importance of discipline and perseverance.

A demonstration-cum-exhibition of various arms, showcasing cutting-edge technology mastered by the Indian Army, was a major highlight of the programme. Mentalist Amit Kalantri amazed the audience with his performance, while Sabali – The Band energised the students with a live musical performance.

The event provided valuable direction and guidance for youth aspiring to join the Indian Army. ‘Yugantar 2047’ was more than a seminar; it was an initiative aimed at placing the younger generation at the forefront of nation building and societal change.

Lt Gen Singhal stated, “Serving in the Indian Army is not merely a job; it is a lifestyle that empowers you to overcome challenges and prepares generals for the Army. It also instils discipline. The future of India lies with the youth and their fresh energy, and programmes like ‘Yugantar’ are crucial in this regard. This inspiration was first brought to light by Swami Vivekananda, who emphasised the importance of youth.”

Maj Gen Chaudhary added, “This excellent programme was made possible by the initiative of Punit Balan. The tagline ‘Youth and Yoga’ is particularly fitting. India will celebrate 100 years of independence in 2047, and ‘Yugantar 2047’ will undoubtedly guide us towards that milestone.”

Balan commented, “Today’s young generation is often engrossed in social media. In this context, we organised ‘Yugantar 2047,’ in collaboration with the Indian Army, to inform them about career opportunities in the Army. Around 3,000 students participated, and I will be content if this programme changes the lives of even 10% of the youth present. I am confident that this initiative will help the Indian Army recruit new officers.”
