Jaipur: Three years old Chetna who fell in the borewell pit in Kotputali Rajasthan could not be rescued even on the fifth day. The continuous rain since Thursday night, hampered the rescue operation as well.
The girl has been trapped in the borewell for 5 days and despite all efforts the rescue team has failed to reach to Chetna who is stuck at 120 feet depth in the borewell.
District Collector Kalpana Aggarwal said that the excavation work has been completed. Now the teams are planning an eight feet horizontal tunnel at 90 degrees angle to reach to Chetna.
“The trained rescue workers of NDRF, SDRF and district administration are digging pits with piling machines parallel to the boring and welding the casing pipes. After that, trained NDRF rescue workers will be lowered into the pit to dig horizontally from below to reach the girl trapped in the borewell. They have all the equipment including oxygen,” said the Collector.

Hundreds of villagers are present at the incident site for 5 consecutive days. Villagers and family members are praying for Chetna’s safety. Prayer meetings and programs are also being organized there. A large number of police forces are also deployed at the incident site.
